Mission Statement:

City Disability Network (CDN) seeks to facilitate community connection and professional support for City of Portland employees who self-identify as a person living with a physical, mental, or other neurotype health disability. We strive to increase the visibility and empowerment of City of Portland employees living with disabilities to have deeper access to resources, opportunities, and benefits that result in professional accomplishments and individual success. We gather as a group in part to hold City leadership accountable to expressed and value-based commitments towards disability equity and equal opportunity, and we seek to help the City of Portland to be an employer of choice who values the recruitment, retention, and professional development of people who identify as living with a disability. Lastly, CDN will collaborate with disability-led community organizations and institutions for shared goals and accomplishments.

Group Policy:

This affinity group was formed by and for employees with disabilities and their caregivers, partners, parents, etc. This is not intended as a space for allies to learn about people with disabilities, although we may strategically host broader educational events to promote awareness about people working with disabilities.
