Kathie Condon has been with BOEC since 1994 and brings considerable knowledge and expertise to the Bureau. Coming from the Los Angeles County Fire Department, her public safety experience includes working as EMT1/ paramedic, ambulance and fire dispatcher, supervisor, trainer, program coordinator and manager. She has completed extensive training with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). She was originally hired by BOEC to develop the fire training program and enhance working relationships with fire and medical dispatch partner agencies. Kathie was essential in the development and implementation of Fire/EMS Resource Dispatch.
Kathie now serves as the Emergency Management Program Manager for BOEC. She is responsible for providing overall pre-disaster planning, evacuation and other programs such as training and exercises for natural and man-caused disasters that can affect our services, employees and families. Her experience with such incidents as the Rodney King riots, Northridge Earthquake, TOPOFF4 and several very large wildfires has given her the hands-on experience and knowledge to be a proficient and valuable resource in the area of emergency management.
Kathie has been tasked with reviewing and developing the Bureau's evacuation and continuity of operations plans. She is coordinating the development and review of the Regional Tactical Interoperable Communications Plan. Working closely with the Portland Office of Emergency Management she is responsible for implementing WEBEOC into our operational procedures. Kathie assists Operations with issues related to fire and medical dispatching and call taking when needed.
Kathie has been tasked with the ongoing review and updating the Bureau's evacuation and continuity of operations plans. She is coordinating the development of our internal Emergency Operations Plan as well as with our partner agencies during a major disaster.
