Permit Review Information

To apply for a permit or speak with BES staff in person, visit Portland’s Development Services Center (DSC) located on the first floor of the above address during the following times:

• 7:30 AM to 3:00 PM - Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday
• 7:30 AM to 12:00 PM - Thursday
• 5:00-7:30 PM - 1^st and 3^rd Thursdays of each month BES staff are available at BDS’s Residential Permit Night

To schedule a BES permit inspection call 503-823-7000. Press 1 and enter your IVR # at the prompt to schedule for the following:

• Stormwater management facilities (inspection code #487)
• Grease interceptors and maintenance access structures (inspection code #587)

Who We Are

BES development staff include:

• Planners who attend early assistance meetings and review land use applications;
• Technical experts who review building permit plans, issue sewer connection permits, and inspect constructed stormwater facilities, grease interceptors, and monitoring access structures; and
• Engineers who review public works permits
