ANNA HLAVKA

On July 24, 1979, Rose Ann Hlavka returned to her apartment at 1811 NW Couch Street, #103 at approx 10 pm after working her shift at a nearby McDonalds. Rose Ann shared her apartment with her sister, Anna Marie Hlavka. After calling for her sister and receiving no response, Rose Ann looked into the bedroom and found her sister's body. It was immediately apparent that Anna had been strangled and may have been sexually assaulted.
Anna Marie Hlavka was a 20-year-old white female who was described by those who knew her as being a well-mannered young lady. She had no criminal record and was not involved in any criminal activity. She was living with her boyfriend and they were talking about getting married. She worked various jobs, the latest at McDonalds. She was last seen alive on July 24, 1979, by a friend and co-worker at approximately 5 pm outside her apartment building.
Numerous subjects were interviewed by Detectives at the time. No suspects were developed.
