Traffic Advisory: Railroad work to close NE 148th Ave. at Interstate 84, Mon. Aug. 19 to Fri. Aug. 30
(Aug. 16, 2013) – The Portland Bureau of Transportation advises the traveling public that construction of a new railroad bridge over NE 148th Ave. will require the road to be closed from 7 a.m. Monday, Aug. 19 through 5 p.m. Friday Aug. 30.
Local access will be maintained between NE Sandy Blvd. and NE Halsey Street. To cross Interstate 84, travelers should follow detour routes to use NE 122nd Ave. or NE 162nd Ave.
The closure is required because Union Pacific Railroad is building a bridge over NE 148th that will add a second set of tracks adjacent to the existing tracks.
The public is also advised to travel cautiously, observe all lane closures and directions by flaggers, and use alternate routes if possible.
This work is weather-dependent, and the schedule may change.
