Carbon Footprint Reports
The Portland Water Bureau carbon footprint consists of emissions from the following sources:
- Electricity use for pump stations, groundwater pumpinh, lighting, and other facility uses
- Combustion of biodiesel, diesel, and gasoline fuels for transportation, heavy machinery, and power tools
- Natural gas usage for heating
- Employee air travel
Annual carbon emissions for the last several calendar years are as follows (in metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent - MTCO2e):
2014: 8,004 MTCO2e
2015: 13,965 MTCO2e
2016: 9,894 MTCO2e
2017: 11,686 MTCO2e
2018: 11,071 MTCO2e
2019: TBD
