Ana Brophy
Ana Brophy is a Capital Project Manager II for the Bureau of Environmental Services (BES), and has been with BES for 27 years.
Ana grew up in South Texas, by the Rio Grande Valley. She served in the United States Air Force for four years and moved to Oregon in 1987. Ana brings 33 years of private and municipal experience in renovation of military family housing, subdivision development, road construction, surveying, trenchless sewer construction, stormwater management, human resource management, staff training, and budget development.
Ana is responsible for overall project management activities related to design and contract administration for large-scale multi-disciplinary and multi-phased Capital projects for sewer rehabilitation, stormwater, and vertical construction. She loves the ability to apply her knowledge, exercise independence, and finds opportunities to refine her project management skills with every project.
Ana joined WE Lead in 2019 to expand her leadership skills. She’s looking forward to collaborating, building connections, and working with other women who want to make a difference. She hopes to use her writing skills to help develop policies, and create a sense of community by reaching out to other Affinity groups.
Ana is service-oriented, and she’s constantly looking for ways to get involved in her community and help others. She is passionate about equity, diversity and inclusion and is always trying to figure out how to make a difference. At BES, Ana participates in the bureau’s Committee for Equity and Diversity. Ana has been a mentor in the City Mentoring Program for four years and loves to partner with colleagues on their goals. She also hosts interns from disadvantaged high schools interested in careers with the City during the summer. Ana volunteers with Women in the Trades, and is in her third year serving on the Public Utility Board. She was a Union Stewart for PROTEC17 (formerly Local 17) for 12 years and a Boy Scout Leader for 4 years.
