Natalie Luttrell, a Building Inspector with the Bureau of Development Services, joined WE Lead in 2016.
Natalie was born in San Francisco and moved to Portland at 4 years old. She grew up with her parents and an older sister across from Grant Park. Natalie attended Catholic grade school and graduated from St. Mary’s Academy before going on to study Urban Planning at Portland State University.
In her work as a Building Inspector, Natalie performs structural and mechanical inspections on residential buildings. She has always enjoyed the construction process, and has experience working for remodeling companies, so she enjoys how Building Inspections keeps her involved in the construction of single family residences.
Natalie participated in Women’s History Month in 2016. She became more involved in the Women’s Empowerment Affinity Group after meeting organizers and learning that the event was put on entirely by volunteers. In 2017, Natalie helped start WE Lead to ensure that Women’s History Month would grow as a robust annual event. She is looking forward to Women’s History Month 2020!
Outside of work, Natalie loves spending time with her family. In Summer 2018, she and her partner welcomed their first child. Natalie loves exploring with her son as he grows and learns. She and her family enjoy home improvement projects, and they maintain a garden in the summer where they grow fruit and vegetables. With free time, they like to get out of the house and city and adventure in surrounding nature.
