Portland City Attorney’s Office seeks attorney with minimum seven years’ experience to defend the City in torts matters in state and federal courts. Attorney will be responsible for all phases of litigation, including drafting pleadings, motions and briefs; conducting all aspects of discovery; court appearances; settlement negotiations; and trial work. The position requires excellent written and oral-advocacy communication skills, proficiency in time management, the ability to manage a challenging caseload, and the flexibility to work both independently and as a team member. Must have significant state and federal trial experience. Salary $95,888 - $129,917 (plus excellent benefits).
Portland City Attorney’s Office seeks construction and real estate attorney with minimum seven years’ experience in contract drafting and negotiation, claims handling, dispute resolution, and property management. Experience in real-estate finance, public-agency procurement processes, and landlord-tenant law strongly preferred. Experience in complex construction manager/general contractor (CM/GC) and design-build contracts also desired. Successful candidate will draft and negotiate contracts for complex development projects; advise on Oregon real property and landlord-tenant law; and advise on lender liability, regulatory compliance liens, creditor’s rights and remedies, and other issues. Salary $95,888 - $129,917 (plus excellent benefits).
