No Signatures Submitted for Recall Petition PDX001 10/5/2009

On July 7, 2009, Jasun Wurster filed with the City Auditor a prospective petition to recall Mayor Sam Adams.  The Auditor assigned petition ID No. PDX001 to the prospective petition.  Signatures for PDX001 were due to the Auditor not later than 5:00 p.m. today, October 5, 2009.  As the signature submission deadline has passed, and PDX001 chief petitioner Jasun Wurster did not submit signatures to the Auditor, prospective recall petition ID No. PDX001 is void.

Recall Authority
Article II, Section 18 of the Oregon Constitution provides that “every public officer in Oregon is subject, as herein provided, to recall by the electors of the state or of the electoral district from which the public officer is elected.”  Per ORS 249.875, signatures for a recall petition must be filed not later than the 90th calendar day after the prospective petition filing date.
