No Signatures Submitted for Recall Petition PDX002 4/20/2010

On January 20, 2010, Avel Gordly filed with the City Auditor a prospective petition to recall Mayor Sam Adams. The Auditor assigned petition ID No. PDX002 to the prospective petition. Signatures for PDX002 were due to the Auditor not later than 5:00 p.m. today, April 20, 2010. As the signature submission deadline has passed, and PDX002 chief petitioner Avel Gordly did not submit signatures to the Auditor, prospective recall petition ID No. PDX002 is void.

Article II, Section 18 of the Oregon Constitution provides that “every public officer in Oregon is subject, as herein provided, to recall by the electors of the state or of the electoral district from which the public officer is elected.” Per ORS 249.875, signatures for a recall petition must be filed not later than the 90th calendar day after the prospective petition filing date.
