On Wednesday, October 26th, 2011, the Auditor received a prospective petition from Bruce Altizer to file for the office of Commissioner, Position No. 1, by nominating petition for the May 2012 primary. The Elections Division approved the petition for circulation.

As an alternative method of filing as a candidate by declaration with filing fee, a candidate may file a nominating petition. A nominating petition shall contain no fewer than 100 original signatures of electors registered in the City of Portland.
