Referendum petition (PDX 2) signature sheets submitted (10/11/2012)
On Thursday, October 11th, 2012, the City Auditor received petition signature sheets for the referendum petition filed Sept. 12th, 2012 regarding Ordinance No. 185612. Chief petitioners of the referendum estimate to have collected 43,236 signatures. Per Portland City Code 2.04.090 C., a referendum petition needs 19,858 valid signatures to qualify for placement on the ballot with an intended election date of May 20th, 2014.
The City of Portland Auditor’s Office has 30 days to complete the verification process and arrange for validation of signatures with Multnomah County’s Elections Division.
The referendum petition ID PDX 2 seeks to refer Ordinance No. 185612 which authorizes and directs the Portland Water Bureau to fluoridate the City of Portland’s public drinking water supply. Chief Petitioners are Kim Kaminski, Frances Quaempts-Miller and Dr. Malgosia Cegielski.
