The following measure appeared on the Tuesday, November 7, 1978 General Election Ballot.
CAPTION: Hotel-Motel Tax to Promote Conventions, Tourism
Requires City to impose an additional 1% hotel-motel tax on payments for lodging. Present tax is 5%. Requires City to negotiate contracts up to five years, subject to annual review, with non-profit corporations for use of increased revenues to promote convention business and tourism in the City.
