Under Portland City Code Chapter 2.12 (Regulation of Lobbying Entities) and Chapter 2.14 (Reporting by Political Consultants), lobbying entities and City officials are required to file quarterly reports for January 1, 2020 – March 31, 2020 with the Auditor’s Office no later than April 15, 2020. The new deadline is June 15, 2020 for required filers.
During the emergency caused by the novel coronavirus (COVID-19):
- The Auditor’s Office has temporarily suspended enforcement of lobbying and political consultant reporting requirements for Q1 reporting (January 1, 2020 - March 31, 2020). The new filing deadline for Q1, 2020 reports is June 15, 2020 and the office will not assess late fees or penalties for the failure to file quarterly reports, publicly post calendars of official activities, submit required updated information, or register as a lobbyist or political consultant.
- Review the City Official list to check reporting responsibility.
- The Auditor’s Office encourages lobbying entities, political consultants, and City officials to file reports and post information when they are able to do so. Reports must be filed online (https://www.portlandoregon.gov/auditor/41044). - The Auditor’s Office will make all registrations and quarterly reports filed available to the public as soon as possible.
