  • BDS Service Levels Improving and Current Information Available Online

    The Bureau of Development Services updates our online Current Service Levels and Workload Measures webpages on a monthly basis. Please take the noted timelines into consideration as you prepare your project’s schedule.

  • Fall 2016 Landlord Training Program

    The City of Portland, Bureau of Development Services is in the process of scheduling its Fall 2016 Landlord Training Program dates and locations. Classes will be held December 3rd and 10th at the Providence Portland Medical Center and December 6th and 9th at Legacy Emanuel Medical Center.

  • DRAC Happenings

    The DRAC meets the third Thursday of each month from 8:00 – 10:00 a.m. in Room 2500B (2nd floor) of the 1900 Building, 1900 SW 4th Ave. DRAC meetings are open to the public. September and October 2016 Updates.

  • Strategic Plan Update

    A series of meetings is being scheduled in November to introduce the new Plan to employees and give opportunities for questions and feedback. The final Plan will be publicly released in January 2017.

  • 2016 Fall Budget Monitoring Process (BMP) / FY 2017-18 Budget

  • Contracting/Alternative Resources Update

    In the September 2016 issue of the Plans Examiner we outlined BDS’s efforts to address persistently high workload demands and improve the timeliness of services to customers and the community. We continue to see significant increases in several key workload measures compared to the previous year.

  • Vesting in Zoning Code Regulations

    The City’s Comprehensive Plan and two of its implementation tools – the zoning maps and zoning code (Title 33) – are undergoing a major update. Portland’s City Council adopted the 2035 Comprehensive Plan on June 15, 2016.

  • Fix-It Fair

    The Bureau of Development Services (BDS) will be at the upcoming Fix-It Fair on November 19, 2016 at Ron Russell Middle School from 9:30 am – 2:30 pm. BDS staff will be ready and available to answer your building questions. Be sure to stop by and say hi!
