The IT Advancement Project will implement a new information technology system for the City’s development review functions that will move BDS and its inter-agency partners’ operations to a web-based, paperless permit/case management process allowing customers and staff complete, online access to the permitting and case management, review, and inspection services that the City provides.
The following primary goals will be achieved through the ITAP project.
Implementation of an updated building permit information system.
Migrate the TRACS permit system and electronic data to a new City of Portland permitting system installed and implemented via ITAP, and maintained by BDS.
Online/Paperless permit application, plan review, and case management services.
Allow complete digital processing of plan and case review services with online submission, review, approval and issuance, in addition to enforcement case intake, inspection and compliance processes. Paper-based permitting processes will continue to be provided for constituents on an as needed basis.
Mobile access for field staff.
Mobile device for field staff to process their work assignments, search plan review and inspection records, and access office services such as email and messaging.
