The Bureau of Environmental Services (BES) will no longer be accepting requests for reduction of Sanitary System Development Charges (SDCs) based on the installation of low-flow plumbing fixtures as of September 15th, 2013.
BES is concluding a pilot study consisting of mixed-use commercial developments approved for the "Low-Flow SDC Reduction". The BES Sanitary SDC is based on anticipated incoming flows to the public sewer from new private developments or additional plumbing fixtures installed for existing facilities. These charges are based on a proportionate share or use of the city's public sewage facilities. Data generated from the pilot study will be compared to current water usage information for consideration of future adjustments in SDC methodology.
