BDS is continuing work on its budget request for Fiscal Year 2014-15 (July 2014 – June 2015). All City bureaus will be required to submit their budget requests by February 3, 2014.
As in past years, BDS is seeking input on its budget from a variety of sources, including customers, employees, and stakeholder groups such as the Development Review Advisory Committee (DRAC). We are also meeting with our Budget Advisory Committee (BAC), composed of stakeholders, community members, and BDS staff. The BAC has held two meetings and is scheduled to meet three more times, including:
- Tuesday, December 17th, 12:00 – 1:30 p.m.
- Tuesday, January 7th, 12:00 – 1:30 p.m.
- Wednesday, January 22nd, 12:00 – 1:30 p.m.
All BAC meetings are open to the public, and we welcome participation by all interested parties. Meetings are held in Room 5A on the 5th floor of the 1900 Building, 1900 SW 4th Avenue (SW 4th and Hall).
The DRAC will spend significant time considering our budget priorities and decisions at its meetings in December and January:
- Thursday, December 19th, 8:00 – 9:30 a.m.
- Thursday, January 16th, 8:00 – 9:30 a.m.
DRAC meetings are also open to the public. Meetings are held in Room 2500B on the 2nd floor of the 1900 Building (1900 SW 4th Avenue).
We are also meeting with the BDS Financial Advisory Committee, composed of economists and industry representatives. This group provides input on economic trends and reviews our long-range financial projections.
Finally, we are hosting two budget drop-in sessions for BDS employees on December 12th and 16th. These sessions give employees opportunities to submit budget ideas and review input received from others.
