ITAP Update

The Information Technology Advancement Project (ITAP) is the City’s technology initiative to move the City's development review process to a paperless system. The paperless process will allow online access to the City bureaus' permitting and case services.

The Team has been working since February on requirements gathering workshops and has completed them for the following permit types:ITAP

  • Trade Permits
  • Public Works Permits
  • Fire Permits
  • Sanitation Permits
  • Mural Permits
  • Land Use Early Assistance
  • Land Use Public Registry
  • Land Use Final Plats
  • Land Use Reviews
  • Transportation Permits (inclusive of many Transportation sub-types)

Subject Matter Experts (SME’s) from workgroups specializing in each of those application and permit types participated in the workshops. As workshops complete, Team Sierra (the vendor) documents the results and engages the City team in several rounds of review until they agree on an accurate representation of the City’s needs. Team Sierra then uses those documents as guides for configuring the base permitting software (Infor Public Sector, or IPS) and the digital plan review software (ProjectDox). As the next step the City team validates that the configured software works as expected. This design/configure/validate process will occur for all of the City’s permit types. Meanwhile, technical teams are working on system interfaces, data cleanup, and GIS aspects of the project.
