The Daily Journal of Commerce (DJC) recognized the Bureau of Development Services (BDS) at its 2015 Newsmakers Luncheon on February 25, 2015 at the Sentinel Hotel.
For more than 140 years, the DJC has served as a central source of news about the building industry in Portland and the Pacific Northwest. The publication’s annual Newsmakers event celebrates companies, individuals, agencies, and organizations that have played a significant role in the region’s development industry during the past 12 months, as well as those expected to make the news in the upcoming year. DJC selected BDS as a Newsmaker to acknowledge the services it has provided over the past couple of years, keeping projects moving along in the City even with a reduced number of employees during the recession, and to celebrate the fact that BDS has been rebuilding its workforce.
BDS Director Paul Scarlett stated at the event that he is “proud to accept this award on behalf of all the BDS employees who show dedication to providing the best possible service with the resources available.” Twenty other awardees were included among this year’s Newsmakers.
