The BDS Bureau Assessment project has begun in earnest, with consultants from the Coraggio Group meeting with BDS employees and with internal and external focus groups to discuss the bureau’s culture, communications, and other issues related to organizational health. Current project activities include:
- An Advisory Committee of staff from throughout BDS met with the Coraggio Group in May to give insights and feedback into the assessment process.
- Three focus groups have been created - employees, senior managers, and external stakeholders. The internal focus groups met in May and June; the external focus group will meet later in July.
- One-on-one interviews have been completed with employees representing a cross-section of the bureau.
The assessment will encompass a review of the bureau’s overall health and culture as well as its organizational structure, with the goals of strengthening morale and teamwork, enhancing operational effectiveness, and aligning the bureau’s structure with staffing and service delivery goals.
Feedback from the interviews and focus groups will lead to recommendations for changes intended to strengthen the bureau’s health, culture, structure, and to improve service delivery for customers and the community.
