Comprehensive Plan Process/Timeline:

The Planning and Sustainability Commission (PSC) is tentatively scheduled to recommend the draft 2035 Comprehensive Plan to City Council for consideration on July 14.

Comprehensive Plan Early Implementation Discussion Drafts Coming Soon:

This summer and fall The Bureau of Planning and SusCentral City Plantainability (BPS) will be releasing drafts of projects that address employment land, institutional campuses and mixed use zones. These discussion drafts allow planners to share their initial thinking with the community and consider the feedback as they develop their proposed drafts, which are presented to the Planning and Sustainability Commission for formal review and public hearings.

Mixed Use Zoning:

Draft zoning concepts focus on new development standards, floor area ratios, design overlays, affordable housing and commercial space bonuses in Portland's Centers and Corridors.

Accessory Structures:

The Bureau of Planning and Sustainability is revising the City’s Zoning Code for accessory structures and focusing on detached residential structures such as garages, storage sheds, home offices and accessory dwelling units (ADUs), as well as, decks, trellises, ADA ramps and mechanical equipment.
