For the last several months, consultants from Coraggio Group have been assisting BDS with an organizational assessment focused on the bureau’s health, culture, and organizational structure. The goals of the assessment are to strengthen employee morale and teamwork, enhance operational effectiveness, and align the bureau’s structure with staffing and service delivery goals. The assessment was prompted by the significant organizational changes BDS has undergone over the last several years as a result of the dramatic swings in the national and local economy. These changes have had significant impacts on us, as well as, our customers.
Interviews and focus group meetings were held with employees over the summer, and the consultants have been meeting with an Advisory Committee (composed of BDS employees and managers) to analyze their findings and draft a report. The report includes action steps to guide the bureau in implementing changes to improve organizational health and effectiveness. The Advisory Committee will meet again in mid-November to review the report and make final recommendations. The report will then be forwarded to the Bureau's senior management team. The goal is to finalize the report and make it available by sometime in December 2015.
