CUSTOMER & COMMUNITY NOTIFICATION
March 31, 2016. The Bureau of Development Services has announced a search for interested citizens to fill two vacancies on the City of Portland Adjustment Committee.
The Adjustment Committee reviews appeals of Adjustment requests to the development standards, such as building height setbacks or lot coverage, landscaping, parking etc., of Title 33 (Planning and Zoning Regulations). The Adjustment Committee meets the first and third Tuesday of each month at 9:00 am. Because the Committee meets only when an administrative decision on an Adjustment is appealed, the Committee typically meets less than once a month.
Committee members serve four-year terms and may be re-appointed for one additional four-year term. The Committee consists of seven members, none of whom may hold public elective office. The Committee must include three persons representing the Public at Large, two members in either Urban Design, Architecture, or Landscape Architecture, and two members experienced in either Engineering, Financing Construction, Management of Buildings, or Land Development. The members are appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the City Council.
Currently, two positions are available: one in the “Urban Design, Architecture, or Landscape Architecture” category; and one in the “Engineering, Financing Construction, Management of Buildings, or Land Development” category. We are looking to have both positions filled as soon as possible.
Applications should be submitted to the Office of Neighborhood Involvement with a cover letter describing the applicant’s interest, background and experience, or a resume. We are requesting that applications be submitted by Thursday, April 21, 2016.
For more information about the Adjustment Committee, you may contact Douglas Hardy with Bureau of Development Services at 503-823-7816, or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Interested citizens should contact the Office of Neighborhood Involvement at 503-823-4519 for the application form. The form may also be accessed through the ONI website at www.portlandoregon.gov/oni/38616.
