On June 8, 2017, the City Council adopted the City’s fiscal year (FY) 2017-18 Budget, which went into effect on July 1, 2017. BDS’s budget includes two reductions:
- A 5% General Fund cut required by the City Council; we will meet that requirement by reducing our nuisance abatement funds. Thankfully, Neighborhood Inspections program reserves are sufficient to cover the reduction.
- The removal of General Fund support ($1 million) from the Land Use Services (LUS) program. The City Budget Office recommended this cut, since LUS revenues and financial reserves are healthy.
The FY 2017-18 budget went into effect on July 1, 2017
