Fanno Basin Pressure Line Project

Updated July 14, 2017

This project is replacing 19 maintenance access structures in nine locations in the Garden Home area, as well as installing a pressure monitoring and recording system station off SW Railroad Street. These upgrades will ensure that the Fanno Basin Sewer System will continue to handle all wastewater flows year-round and provide better monitoring of the entire sewer system in the area. This project will protect public health and the health of the Fanno Creek Watershed.

Construction Activities

Construction continues with some periods of inactivity over the next month:

  • Crews have installed nine of the 19 maintenance access structures on the first pipe and are in the process of draining the water from the pipe.
  • The required 30-day Proof Test of the first pipe has begun.
  • During the proof test period, crews will be working near the SW 86th Avenue Pump Station entrance, and will also be doing electrical work off SW 69th and Railroad Street.
  • Work on the second pipe to replace the remaining maintenance access structures can continue only after the 30-day Proof Test period, which could be early to mid-August.
