Plant Trees in the City

Neighborhood Tree Planting

Are you ready for trees? The Environmental Services Tree Program wants to help you get trees planted! We provide opportunities for low- and no-cost street trees planted through our contractors, including Friends of Trees. If you prefer to plant on your own, we offer a one-time credit for residential yard trees planted without the help of our contractors or another City program.

We prioritize tree planting in low-canopy neighborhoods, neighborhoods with demonstrated stormwater system needs, and with low-income residents and communities of color. Our partnership with Friends of Trees serves to strengthen communities by engaging neighbors in tree planting events.

Follow the links below to learn whether any of our programs are the right fit for you. Once planted, a tree needs your care to thrive. Visit the Tree Care and Stewardship page to learn more about tree care in Portland

Treebate runs from September 1 through April 30
