Environmental Services has almost completed repairing or replacing about 25,000 feet of public sewer pipes in the Sellwood-Moreland neighborhood that are between 80 and 100 years old and deteriorating due to age. This project will help protect the public and the environment by reducing the possibility of costly breaks, leaks, blockages and sewage releases to homes, businesses and streets.

On Harney Street, crews have nearly finished rebuilding the road foundation between SE 9th and SE 11th, and plan to pave the block on Thursday, April 7. If dry weather continues, they plan to spend the rest of this week rebuilding Harney between SE 11th and 13th, and the following week rebuilding the street between SE 13th and 15th.
Over the next several weeks, crews will be constructing and/or repairing manholes and storm drains throughout the project area. Other remaining repairs, including patching chipped curbs, will continue as well.
Paving crews have taken advantage of the sun to pave many streets this past week. In the next several weeks, they plan to pave SE Rex between 9th and 11th Avenues, SE 20th Avenue between Knapp and Rex, and Harney Street.
