Environmental Services will soon begin demolition of the Alder Pump Station as part of the Alder Pump Station Upgrade Project. The city constructed the pump station at SE Water Avenue and SE Alder Street in 1952. This upgrade project will improve reliability, increase pumping capacity, and help prevent sewage releases to protect public health, water quality, and the environment. For details about the improvements to be made, click here.
Construction of upgrades will go through several phases and take up to two years to complete. Typical work hours will be 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, with construction the same hours on Saturday if needed.
Demolition of the pump station is scheduled to begin this Friday, November 17, at 7:30 a.m., and will continue through mid-December.
