Environmental Services is nearing completion of work on the Hollywood-Grant Park Sewer and Stormwater Project to repair or replace about 7 miles of public sewer pipes that were between 75 and 110 years old and in poor condition. The work included constructing 12 green street planters and six sumps to remove more than 1.2 million gallons of stormwater from the sewer system annually. These improvements will protect public health, property and the environment, and reduce the possibility of sewage releases into streets, homes and businesses.
