Environmental Services – your sewer and stormwater utility – will soon begin designing a project to repair or replace several hundred feet of public sewer pipe in your neighborhood that is showing signs of deterioration due to age. Before design can begin, the project team will be investigating the possibility of relocating a main public sewer line from private property south of Sam Jackson Road near Duniway Park. In addition to replacing aging pipe, relocating the main public sewer pipe will result in more efficient sewage flows and increased accessibility for future maintenance.
Construction is anticipated to begin no sooner than the summer of 2020.
Over the next several months, work crews will periodically be in the western Duniway Park area, as well as public and private property west of the park, to perform investigative activities. Activities include marking the location of sewer pipes and underground utilities with temporary paint, surveying the land, and collecting soil samples. Information gathered will help us determine the repair locations, select construction methods, and minimize construction impacts on residents and businesses.
