The City of Portland’s Bureau of Environmental Services is continuing our work to repair and replace critical sewer and stormwater infrastructure. Environmental Services will continue to provide information and updates on construction schedules and activities during the COVID-19 emergency.
Environmental Services is continuing to design a project in the Sunnyside neighborhood to install, replace, and upsize approximately 8,880 feet of public sewer pipes. Environmental Services is also proposing to construct 25 green street planters to manage stormwater runoff from streets, roofs and parking lots. The sewer and stormwater improvements will increase sewer capacity, manage stormwater more naturally, and reduce the risks of street flooding and sewage releases to homes, businesses and streets..
Construction is not anticipated to begin before spring 2021.
Environmental Services has separated the pipe work from SE Hawthorne Boulevard and a couple of adjacent streets that was previously in this project to move it up in the schedule due to PBOT's paving schedule of SE Hawthorne Boulevard in May 2021. This work will take place prior to the paving in May 2021. More information to come soon.
Construction for the Sunnyside South Green Street and Sewer Project isn’t anticipated to begin until spring 2021. A presentation to the Sunnyside Neighborhood Association will be on Thursday, February 13, 2020 at 7:00 pm, at Southeast Uplift, 3534 SE Main Street.
