SE Reedway Soil Removal Project

Updated May 7, 2020

The City of Portland’s Bureau of Environmental Services is continuing our work to repair and replace critical sewer and stormwater infrastructure. Environmental Services will continue to provide information and updates on construction schedules and activities during the COVID-19 emergency.

Reedway Soil Removal Project Map

Environmental Services is beginning a project to remove stockpiles of soil from a site located at SE Reedway Street east of SE 104th Avenue. The soil stockpile was left over from grading work done to create the East Lents Floodplain Restoration Project and Foster Floodplain Natural Area in 2012. This soil shows signs of contamination.  As a result it will be removed and disposed of in a facility that can contain contaminants safely.

This project will protect public health and water quality by removing and properly disposing of contaminated soil.

Schedule

This project is currently on hold while the City and its contractor locate a suitable disposal site for the soil stockpile.
