Environmental Services is assessing the condition of public sewer pipe on SW Macadam Avenue between SW Mitchell and Sweeney streets to help engineers plan future repair projects. This work will provide important information about the sewer system so that we can plan timely repairs, maintain reliable sewer service, and protect water quality, public health and the environment.
Between May 6 and May 31, 2019, you may see crew members accessing manholes on SW Macadam Avenue. Crews will use a robotic camera to obtain 3D and sonar images, which will provide detailed information about the condition of deep, large-diameter sewer pipes.
Information from this work instructs the planning of future sewer repair projects; therefore, no construction is currently scheduled. Environmental Services will provide an update on any future repairs planned near your property.
This work will occur at night between the hours of 8 p.m. and 5 a.m., when sewer flows are the lightest. Inspection work will occur in sidewalks and streets in the public right-of-way. You may experience traffic delays near the work zone. Crew members will only need to visit each location once, with work lasting several hours.
