9. Policeman's Helmet
Policeman's Helmet (Impatiens glandulifera)
- Smooth stemmed and hairless
- Plants can grow to 10 feet
- Upright, hollow stems are easily broken and have a purple tinge
- Leaf shape varies from oblong to egg-shaped, with serrated edges
- Flowers are solitary, irregular, and range from white to all shades of pink
- Flower shape resembles an English policeman’s helmet
