Temporary Fanno Trail closure
Environmental Services closed portions of the Fanno Trail today to test segments of the Fanno Pressure Sewer. The city also closed the trail in July to repair a pressure sewer leak.
In July, sewage leaked from a weld at a maintenance access point. Repair crews replaced the pipe section where the leak occurred and re-opened the trail in August. The trail closure that began today will allow construction crews to excavate and expose the pressure sewer at SW 78th, 82nd and 84th avenues to inspect welds at other maintenance access points.
The trail will remain closed for about three weeks. Trail users will detour around the closure on neighborhood streets and on the path on SW Garden Home Road.
