Emergency sewer repairs have closed both eastbound lanes of SW Harrison Street between SW 4th and 1st avenues in downtown Portland. The lanes will remain closed to through traffic 24-hours a day through Thursday, November 10, 2011. The city’s contractor is maintaining local access but residents should expect delays.
Work may also slow northbound and southbound traffic at times on SW 1st Avenue at Harrison Street.
TriMet and Portland Streetcar are maintaining regular routes during construction. The 200 block SW Harrison bus stop (ID 2566) closed in September and will remain closed through November 10, 2011. Bus riders should use stop 2580 at SW Harrison and 4th as an alternate.
Sidewalks and pedestrian walkways may close periodically during construction. Pedestrians and bicyclists should use caution when traveling through the construction zone.
