The SE Clay Green Street project starts construction soon

The time is here! 21 new green street facilities will be built this summer along SE Clay Street between SE 12th Avenue and SE Water Avenue.
This is part of the Clay Street Route to the River project that helps connect the neighborhood to the Eastbank Esplanade while improving stormwater infrastructure. The green street facilities will remove an average of 1.6 million gallons of stormwater runoff from the combined sewer system each year. This helps protect Portlanders’ investment in the big pipe projects and keeps the river clean by allowing water to soak into the ground naturally. As an added bonus, these improvements also help our climate by storing carbon.

This old curb and gutter at SE 2nd Ave. and Clay will be upgraded as part of stormwater improvements on the Clay Street Route to the River, similar to the project completed at SE 12th Avenue and Clay.
