Our partners at the Columbia Slough Watershed Council just released a new report:
Columbia Slough Watershed Projects and Programs 2003-2013.
Wow! 260+ activities and projects large and small by the community volunteers, businesses, and public agencies working together to implement the Columbia Slough Action Plan.
What's in your neighborhood? Check out all the happenings in North and Northeast Portland with this nifty Google Maps tool that shows the activities and projects in the report.
Environmental Services is proud to partner with the Watershed Council in their mission to foster action. Together, we’re transforming the Columbia Slough’s waterways, riparian areas and uplands through efforts including:
- Projects to keep Combined Sewer Overflows out of the slough
- Popular education and stewardship programs, like this big list of fun stuff coming up.
- Salmon habitat restoration and clean water projects like the Columbia Slough Confluence.
- Acquiring and protecting more than 100 acres of natural area that provide clean water services, like the Catkin Marsh/Broadmoor wetlands and the Wilkes Creek Headwaters.
Get involved! Check out the calendar for the upcoming Stewardship Saturdays in the Slough.
