Since 2010, Dr. Mazzacano has been studying the freshwater mussels of Johnson Creek in partnership with Johnson Creek Watershed Council. She will share the results of her research and provide a brief overview of what is known about these mysterious macroinvertebrates.

Thanks to Johnson Creek Watershed Council and Xerces Society volunteers for partnering with Environmental Services to rescue over 600 freshwater mussels as part of the Crystal Springs restoration work last summer!
