Sewage release on SE Deardorff Road near SE Clatsop Street
Sewage Release Advisory
July 16, 2015
City maintenance crews cleared a blocked public sewer line this afternoon to stop a sewage release from a manhole on SE Deardorff Road north of SE Clatsop Street.
An estimated 600 gallons of sewage flowed out of a manhole, onto SE Deardorff Road and north into a storm drain. From there it flowed through the public sewer system to a stormwater retention pond at SE Deardorff Road and SE 138th Drive. Maintenance crews cleared the blocked line and stopped the sewage release today at 3:15 p.m. Sewer maintenance crews were not able to determine the exact duration of the release.
The public should avoid contact with sewage on the roadway and with the stormwater retention pond. Street maintenance crews will clean the street as soon as possible tonight.
