Most streets requiring night work as part of the Lower Powell Green Street and Sewer Project are complete. Remaining night work includes repairing deteriorating sewer pipe under the northbound SE McLoughlin Boulevard/SE Powell Boulevard off ramp using the Cured in Place Pipe Lining method. This phase will occur between June 14 and June 30, 2017. Work requires closing the ramp during overnight construction hours from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. for up to seven nights. The map below shows the location of remaining night work and the associated detour.
The Portland Noise Office has granted Environmental Services a noise variance to allow overnight construction on streets with high daytime traffic volumes. There will be lights at construction areas and noise from construction equipment, vehicles and generators during overnight construction. The noise variance does not allow construction crews to use saw cutters, back-up beepers or jackhammers after midnight. Once work is scheduled, nearby residents will receive a flyer that includes a hotline number to ask question and report concerns. Work may involve daytime construction to complete some steps.
Go to www.portlandoregon.gov/oni/noise for more information about the Noise Office and requirements for a noise variance.
