Students lend a hand for clean rivers

On a gray day in November, 41 third graders from Catlin Gabel School joined the Green Street Steward Program to spruce up green streets in southwest Portland. In just one hour, the students, chaperones and a local Green Street Steward volunteer cleaned up 222 gallons of leaves and other debris and 10 gallons of litter! Looks like they had some fun in the process.
Thanks Caitlin Gabel students for helping us keep the swales and rain gardens looking good, and most importantly, doing what they’re designed to do: soak up stormwater and keep pollution out of our streams and rivers.
