Design is nearly complete on an Environmental Services project to replace about 240 feet of public sewer pipe on SE 20th Avenue between SE Oak and Pine streets. The pipes are 115 years old and deteriorating due to age. The project will also extend the public sewer by 100 feet to provide service to private properties and will construct new manholes and storm drain inlets. This project will reduce the possibility of costly breaks, sink holes and sewage releases to homes, businesses and streets.
Construction is anticipated to begin in winter 2017 and will take up to six months to complete.
