The Portland Harbor Superfund Cleanup survey results are in! Click here for survey results.
The City of Portland partnered with the Oregon's Kitchen Table to conduct an online survey in March 2016.
We’re pleased that 2,704 Portlanders participated in this survey. Overwhelmingly, Portlanders care about cleaning up the river, so that it is safe for fish and wildlife, and allows residents to use the river for recreation. At the same time, many Portlanders also care about the impact the cleanup costs may have on local households.
We’ll be incorporating the survey results into our public comment on the EPA’s Proposed Plan. The Portland Harbor Superfund is an important environmental, economic and public health issue facing our community, now and in the future. After many years of study and process, we want to see cleanup start as soon as possible. We also want to make sure the cleanup is done right.
Public input from our community is critical to the process. We encourage everyone in the community to provide comment on the Proposed Plan during EPA’s 90-day comment period. For more information on how to submit comments to EPA by September 6, please click here.
