Beginning in January 2019, several bureaus began piloting a new approach to conducting performance reviews online through our SAP SuccessFactors platform. Their role as pilot bureaus was to evaluate this new process and technology, and to ensure it makes performance conversations easier and more impactful for everyone involved, prior to rolling out the new system Citywide in July 2020.
The SAP SuccessFactors Performance Management System will be a game changer at the City and will apply to all merit eligible City staff, exclusive of the Portland Police Bureau and Bureau Directors.
Specifically, it will help us deliver:
• Clear priorities for every employee;
• A culture of frequent and constructive feedback and;
• Equitable assessments to recognize and appropriately reward differences in performance.
As we plan for a July 2020 rollout across the City, we have brought together a Citywide Performance Review Committee to help steer and scale this effort. Your bureau’s representative has been working as part of a cross-functional team to review the current pilot process, make necessary adjustments for Citywide roll-out, and ensure the tools and training for a successful launch are in place before we go live in July.
Beginning in February, your HR Business Partner and your bureau’s committee representative will be scheduling training sessions for you to learn more about this new Citywide process.
