Hello BHR staffers!

This is your HR Business Partner reaching out to remind you that I’m here to "partner" with you on whatever it is that you need to be successful in your work. Don’t hesitate to give me a call, or find me on the floor and we can utilize the many cool new options available for us to chat, in our new building.

And speaking of change, I thought I’d take this opportunity to share a few quick reminders on how to manage this (huge) change for us in how we relate to our new space:

• _{Keep an open mind. A wise sage (or two) once said…"The only thing that’s constant in life is change." So true, right? While every one of us will have our struggles wrapping our minds around the new space and how to leverage all the goodies available to us, it’s a good idea to be open to whatever challenges we might encounter, without judgement.}
• _{Be patient. Both with yourself and with the folks around you. If something’s not happening for you in a timely fashion and you start to get frustrated, be mindful of that frustration, but don’t act on it. Take a breath, step back and come to it again later. Things will work out.}
• _{Be grateful. Holy moly look at where you work! State of the art stuff, and A LOT of thinking, planning and execution went into this amazing space you find yourself in. Take a moment to realize the amount of work it took the hundreds of people involved in this ginormous project to get to this point. WOW. And thank you citizens of Portland for endowing us with a workplace that is safe, clean, light filled, smartly designed, and really cool looking (IMO!)}
