Energy Performance Reporting Policy for Commercial Buildings

  • View a list of Portland’s top performing commercial buildings.

  • Explore individual building performance data in an interactive map.

  • Third annual report now available, summarizing 2017 data.

  • Find resources to help you improve your building’s score for 2019 and beyond

To reduce energy costs and carbon emissions, Portland City Council passed a policy in 2015 that requires commercial buildings 20,000 square feet and over to:

    1. Track energy use with ENERGY STAR® Portfolio Manager®, and
    2. Report energy performance information annually to the City of Portland.

Reports for the 2018 calendar year will be due on April 22, 2019.

The City of Portland is aware that the reporting tool ENERGY STAR® Portfolio Manager® has been affected by the federal government shutdown and is temporarily offline. Many building managers begin compiling their reports in early February. If the shutdown persists beyond early February, we will provide an additional update to building contacts at that time. If you have not already done so, please ensure that your building has updated primary contact information by using the webform below.
