On December 21, 2016, City Council adopted the Early Implementation projects that update/refine the Zoning Map and Zoning Code as well as other documents and programs as part of the update to Portland’s Comprehensive Plan. These changes will align the City’s rules and activities with the 2035 Comprehensive Plan. After acknowledgement by the state Department of Land Conservation and Development, the new plan will take effect on May 24, 2018, replacing the current Comprehensive Plan adopted in 1980.
